Welcome to the Cookie Factory.... The band Cookie has long been one of the Carolina's hottest and most consistent performing bands in clubs and local venues as well as one of the most requested wedding bands throughout the eastern seaboard. The band is composed of six of the areas top musicians. Cookie features James French ( keys, background vocals), Lantz Oglesby (guitar, background vocals) Cory McClure (drums, background vocals), Michael Rugh (percussion & tasty sounds) Robert Luney (bass, background vocals) & Roy Daye, Jr (lead vocals, guitar). When requested, Steven Wayne Todd joins the ensemble with saxophone and background vocals to thicken up their already funky and smooth sound.

     Cookie is a high energy and very versatile band and at engagement, one may be treated to hear a vast array of artists from Sinatra to Sam Cook, Bill Withers and tunes from the Motown era including artist like the Temptations, Stevie Wonder and Marvin Gaye. You will also hear a good feel for the 80' & 90's with artist like Dave Matthews, Prince and Rick James. To complete the bands versatility, they also play the current top 40 artists including John Mayer, Maroon 5, Black-eyed Peas, Kanye West, Jay Z, Ne-Yo and many more.

     Immediately in 1997 as soon as this group was formed, they became an instant success for bars, private & fraternity parties, wedding receptions and large draw for the areas best night spots for live music. This success is due to their quality musicianship and an extensive, varied song list which encompasses full repertoires of 60, 70s, 80s, and top 40, old school and contemporary R & B.  As of late Cookie has added modern jazz, instrumentals, beach music, and even a touch classical tunes to their repertoire.

     Now well beyond their 10th year of performing, Cookie has performed for several festive events such as the High Point Furniture Market, Coca Cola 500, Speed Street, the NFL's Carolina Panthers, the NHL's Carolina Hurricanes and the NBA's Charlotte Hornets and Bobcats and to cap it off, they were the selected artist for the Charlotte Presidential Inaugural Ball 2009.

     Over the years, Cookie has had the pleasure of sharing the stage with artist like Cameo, James Brown, Boys II Men, Morris Day & the Time, Uncle Kracker, Cowboy Mouth, The Neville Brothers, Edwin McCain, Bruce Hornsby, Run DMC to name a few. All of these experiences with other professional musicians in the industry have been learning experiences for Cookie and are now translated to you in the form of Cookie.
